First identify an import failure or a connection failure
A connection usually involves four steps: obtain the subscription in your account, download the profile, read its nodes and start the connection. Recording the failed step helps avoid unnecessary node switching or reinstalls.
| Symptom | First check | What the result tells you |
|---|---|---|
| One-click import does not open the client | Confirm installation; paste the subscription inside the app | An app-launch failure does not prove the subscription is invalid |
| Download or update fails | Check the full link, subscription validity and profile download path | Resolve profile retrieval before investigating its format |
| Download works, but parsing fails | Check the matching format, client version and logs | The returned content may differ from what the client expects |
| Import works, but no nodes appear | Check the active profile, update and account status | A saved profile does not establish line availability |
| Nodes exist, but websites do not load | Check node selection, connection state, proxy mode and exit | Continue with connection checks rather than format-error checks |
Choose the format from the matching client button
The HKUVPN workspace provides copy and one-click import controls for each client. Clash Verge Rev and FlClash use the Clash subscription; Shadowrocket uses its universal subscription. Copy the link shown for your client rather than editing the address yourself.
The subscription link, account sign-in page and app-launch address have different purposes. Use the workspace's copy-link button when an app asks for a subscription URL. One-click import hands the profile to an installed app. A masked address in a screenshot cannot replace the complete copied link.
- iPhone / iPad: follow the Shadowrocket guide and copy its subscription.
- Clash Verge Rev on Windows, Mac or Linux: select the Clash subscription.
- FlClash on Android: use its workspace entry or import the matching Clash link inside the app.
Update failed: check the complete link and current subscription
Check activation, expiry and remaining data in your account, then copy the current link again. Line breaks, redacted screenshots or shortened display text may leave an app with incomplete information. If you reset subscription credentials, copy the current link again.
Loading an unrelated website proves only that that request worked, not that the client can download its subscription. Record the update time and error. If comparing networks, change only the network and retain the same client and link so the result is interpretable.
If the response is a sign-in page, an error page or a reauthentication notice, resolve the link or account state first. Trying to import HTML as a profile can appear as a format error. Do not paste a credential-bearing link into a public converter or search box.
Format error or no nodes: inspect the profile and client
First confirm the format and the client named in your device guide. Clash Verge Rev's official guide covers link imports, URL schemes and local-profile imports. After saving a subscription, confirm the active profile; a visible subscription card alone does not establish that its nodes were read successfully.
If a client or its core does not recognize a profile setting, consult official release information and logs. Preserve the error text and use the device guide to obtain an official package for your architecture. Do not hide the problem by deleting unknown fields or disabling certificate verification.
If nodes remain absent after an update, check whether the updated profile is active and your account has an available line. Server output, client parsing and account allocation are separate checks. Include those results in a support ticket to reduce follow-up questions.
After import: confirm the connection is actually active
Select a node, enable the client's connection function and use the IP-check page to inspect the browser's exit. System proxy, TUN and app-specific proxy settings differ. A browser result does not prove that a terminal or every app uses the same path.
A latency value establishes only that that test returned a result. Check a website request and the actual exit, then record the network, client version and protocol. For AI website, API or account errors, use the relevant guide rather than treating every failure as an invalid subscription.
Request support with diagnostic details and redacted credentials
Account holders can submit a ticket in the HKUVPN workspace. Include the device and OS, client and version, subscription format, failed step, error text and test time. Redact full subscription URLs, node passwords, API keys, email verification codes and other personal information from screenshots.
Clash Verge Rev documents its log-export controls. Review logs before submitting them because they may contain addresses and profile details. Readers considering HKUVPN can first compare public plans, device support and scope. Installing a free client does not activate a service line.
