Check eligibility before choosing a node.
Anthropic's supported-region rules concern physical location and, for organizations, location and ownership. A US exit IP does not change those requirements. Check the official region page before using Claude.
The privacy documentation describes using IP addresses and other signals for coarse location. An external IP lookup can help identify your exit; it does not reveal Claude's internal assessment.
Identify the symptom before assuming a ban.
Record the complete message, time and whether you are using the website, Claude Code or API. Use the appropriate entry below. An API status code does not establish a web-account suspension cause.
| Symptom | First check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Timeout, reset or loading failure | Local network, proxy and selected node | Use the connection checks in section 04 |
| Region unavailable notice | Official regions and actual eligibility | Contact official support if the notice is mistaken |
| API 401 / 403 | API authentication / resource permissions | Check key, organization and workspace access |
| API 429 / 529 | Limits or allowance / temporary overload | Review error details, allowance and service status |
| Identity verification prompt | Official verification flow and requirements | Follow the prompt with genuine information |
| Account disabled or suspended | The account page or notice | Prepare an appeal using section 07 |
Check fixed nodes, static IPs and dedicated exits separately.
Keep one working node selected during diagnosis so you can reproduce results with fewer changing settings. A fixed client selection does not establish a provider promise that its exit address never changes.
Static describes address retention; dedicated describes the user allocation; residential or datacenter describes the exit source. Check each property along with maintenance, replacement and renewal terms.
- Confirm whether the exit IP is allocated only to your account and which devices may use it.
- Check retention duration, fault-replacement terms and renewal behavior. A node name or subscription URL does not replace those terms.
- Test on the same device, network and destination, recording time and results. One check does not establish all-day stability.
Verify the connection in four steps.
Keep your original configuration and inspect the active client. Browsers, desktop apps, terminal programs and remote servers may use different proxy settings. These checks diagnose connectivity, not account eligibility.
Check the subscription and client
Check validity and remaining data, update your own subscription, then confirm the active profile and node. Use the general subscription for Shadowrocket and Clash format for Clash Verge Rev or FlClash.
Inspect the application's routing rule
Inspect the selected policy in the client's connection view. System Proxy, rule mode and TUN have different scopes. An enabled switch does not establish terminal or API routing.
Check the observed exit and access
Check the browser and the program you need separately, recording the observed exit and error. An external IP lookup describes that lookup's path; also inspect the real destination request in the client's connection view.
Check failure behavior
Finish important work before testing proxy failure in your own test environment. Check whether the app stops or falls back to direct access, then test recovery. TUN alone does not establish a kill switch; follow the client's documentation.
Check Claude Code's proxy separately.
Claude Code documents HTTP_PROXY, HTTPS_PROXY and NO_PROXY, but not direct SOCKS proxy support. Check your client's HTTP listener and configure the environment where Code runs.
Check local, SSH and container environments separately. Replace the port placeholder below, restart Claude Code after changing shell proxy settings, and verify the configuration using the official documentation.
export HTTPS_PROXY="http://127.0.0.1:<HTTP_PORT>"
export HTTP_PROXY="$HTTPS_PROXY"
claudeFor a client and Claude Code on the same machine. Use its actual HTTP port, not a SOCKS port or subscription URL. Review existing NO_PROXY settings and keep credentials out of public scripts.
Handle login, subscriptions and verification on your own account.
Use an email you control and the official login flow, keeping subscription receipts. Connectivity, Claude memberships and API allowance are separate purchases. Handle payment, renewal and verification with the relevant provider.
Identity checks can be part of routine platform verification. A prompt alone does not establish a bad IP. Follow official requirements with genuine information and contact support for verification issues.
For third-party tools, use officially supported API access. Keep login tokens, browser cookies and private subscription links away from unknown services. Clearing a local cache is not an account review.
If suspended, prepare the facts for a review.
Claude's appeal guidance directs you to sign in with the suspended account and open its appeal form. Describe what happened accurately; the provider decides the outcome.
- Collect the account email, notice date, exact error and relevant request ID if available.
- State whether you used the website, official Claude Code or API, and which connection checks you performed.
- Supply documents only through the requested official secure flow. Redact tokens, full IPs, payment details and identity documents in public screenshots.
Choose a network plan when it meets a connection need.
If diagnosis points to configuration, data allowance or a connection issue, compare HKUVPN's US datacenter plans and setup guides. Verify explicit provision if you require a fixed dedicated exit. Use the official processes above for suspension, region eligibility and identity review.

Common questions about Claude account access.
Does Claude require a residential IP?
A residential or datacenter label does not establish an account outcome. Check official eligibility, then compare exit source, sharing and address-retention terms. We do not present residential IPs as an account guarantee.
Is a fixed node a dedicated static IP?
No. Selecting one client node fixes the chosen entry. Whether its exit is shared or changes needs a separate check. A stable subscription URL and private credentials do not establish a dedicated exit.
The website works but Claude Code does not. What next?
Check the local HTTP proxy listener, Claude Code's proxy configuration and any NO_PROXY bypass. Use the official network documentation below. Do not treat a SOCKS5 address as an HTTP proxy.
Can buying a VPN restore or improve an account?
A VPN provides connectivity and does not review Claude accounts or appeals. We have no validated account-score improvement data and promise no reinstatement outcome. Use the official review process for a suspended account.
