Common Chinese names for connectivity tools
Tizi, literally ladder, is a colloquial name for a proxy tool or connectivity service. Other common Chinese phrases describe accessing resources restricted on the current network. These names do not specify a protocol or plan, or establish which apps, devices and networks work.
Once you find a service, check its actual servers, protocols, subscription format, data and validity, then verify access on your own network. A search phrase or product title is not a measured availability result.
Subscription providers, nodes and subscription URLs
Jichang, literally airport, commonly refers to a provider of proxy nodes and subscriptions in this context. A node subscription lets a client retrieve configurations. Node lists can change with capacity, maintenance and plans; importing once does not establish permanent service.
A subscription URL supplies nodes, authentication and rules. HKUVPN personal subscriptions contain connection credentials: obtain yours from your account and import it intact on your devices. Referral links are for inviting friends; personal subscriptions are not invitation links.
Separate a VPN, proxy, client and node
VPN means virtual private network; a proxy forwards requests through an intermediary. A product's VPN name or a client's connected indicator still needs to be read alongside its protocol and routing mode. Rule mode, System Proxy and TUN can handle different traffic.
HKUVPN currently supplies HY2 and Trojan nodes with subscription management. HY2 uses UDP and Trojan uses TCP. Mobile VPN permission or a desktop proxy switch is one step in routing traffic; you also need an active configuration and a selected node.
| Part | Responsibility | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Connectivity service | Supplies servers and account access | Exit type, allowance, validity and availability |
| Subscription | Delivers nodes and configuration | An intact, active URL in the right format |
| Client | Loads the profile and routes device traffic | Compatibility, active profile and routing mode |
| Node and exit | Carries traffic and supplies the visible source IP | Selected node, real browsing and the required exit |
What are Shadowrocket, Clash and FlClash?
Xiaohuojian is a common Chinese nickname for Shadowrocket. A Shadowrocket subscription is configuration suitable for that client; buying or installing the app does not include provider nodes or an HKUVPN plan. Check App Store requirements for iPhone, iPad and compatible Macs.
A Clash subscription is a client configuration format. Our guides use Clash Verge Rev or FlClash, with installers matched to the system and processor. Choose the general subscription for Shadowrocket, or the Clash subscription for Clash Verge Rev and FlClash.
User location, US nodes and residential exits
Hong Kong VPN may mean a service for Hong Kong users or an exit in Hong Kong. Names referring to US providers also need an actual node and exit check. HKUVPN serves Hong Kong users with shared Los Angeles datacenter exits and separate accounts and data allowances.
Residential broadband describes the exit's source; dedicated or shared describes who uses it; static or dynamic describes address changes. Check these properties separately rather than inferring a residential or dedicated exit from a US node label.
From the terminology to choosing and connecting
Names such as AI accelerator or gaming accelerator describe intended uses. Identify whether you need browsing, developer-tool routing, gaming connectivity or a particular exit, then check the provider's published capabilities. Connectivity does not itself include AI memberships, inference compute or specialized gaming routes.
