Common questions

Clear answers before you choose a plan.

Who is HKUVPN for?

HKUVPN offers US datacenter VPN connections and subscription, usage and expiry management for AI users, students and developers in Hong Kong.

Where is the exit? Is it residential?

The current exits are in Los Angeles, US datacenters—not residential IPs. Hong Kong describes our intended users, not a Hong Kong exit server.

Can I use it for AI tools?

HKUVPN provides connectivity, not AI accounts, memberships or API credits. Access to a specific platform still depends on its supported regions, account eligibility and terms.

How does a US dedicated IP differ from a shared exit?

A dedicated IP is assigned to one customer; a shared exit serves several customers. These plans currently use shared US exits, with separate accounts, subscriptions and data allowances. Dedicated does not mean residential, an exclusive physical server, or guaranteed speed.

Which devices and clients are supported?

Guides cover Mac, iPhone / iPad, Windows, Android and Linux, using Shadowrocket, Clash Verge Rev or FlClash. Some clients require a separate purchase.

How do data and expiry work? Is there auto-renewal?

Uploads and downloads count toward your allowance. Validity starts on activation; access stops at expiry or when data runs out. There is no automatic charge. Renewals add data and extend an active expiry, or start from activation if already expired. Data does not reset each calendar month.
