Check the network, service and model separately
A page that fails to load, DNS failure or a timeout may involve the network path. Sign-in, eligibility, API allowance and model permissions need checks on the destination platform. Switching nodes cannot replace those checks.
Changing your network exit does not add model parameters, reasoning budget or a membership tier. Response length and a single speed test cannot prove a model downgrade. Check the selected model, account plan, platform notices and errors.
Troubleshoot a browser connection in order
First check local internet access, subscription validity and the selected node, with the desktop system proxy or mobile VPN enabled. Test a normal HTTPS page before the AI service so that one service's restriction is not mistaken for a complete connection failure.
- If HY2 times out, try Trojan and record both results on the same network.
- Check client DNS settings when the log explicitly reports a DNS resolution error.
- Keep certificate checks enabled and redact subscription URLs, API keys and session data from logs and screenshots.
A working browser does not prove your API uses its proxy
Terminals, SDKs, containers and browsers may use different proxy settings. Check the program's documented proxy support, process configuration and timeouts. Do not post API keys or complete credential-bearing requests in public tickets.
An HTTP status means something responded, but check whether that response came from the target API, a gateway or a proxy. The following examples follow Claude API documentation; use each other provider's own definitions.
| Error | Meaning | First check |
|---|---|---|
| 401 | Authentication problem | API key and authentication |
| 403 | Permission problem | Organization, workspace and resource access |
| 429 | Rate limit | Request rate and provider limits |
| 500 / 529 | Service error or overload | Service status, retry and backoff guidance |
The destination decides eligibility and supported regions
Selecting a US node does not grant eligibility for another service. ChatGPT, Claude and other platforms have their own supported regions, account requirements and usage rules, which may change. Read current official guidance before registering, paying or making API calls.
HKUVPN does not sell third-party accounts or include AI memberships or API credits, and makes no promise of account unblocking, zero risk, model-downgrade probabilities or permanent availability.
Choose for devices, data and verifiable capabilities
If you need US datacenter connectivity, a separate subscription and usage management, compare HKUVPN plans and follow the device guide. If residential broadband is required, verify the service type first; current HKUVPN plans use shared datacenter exits.
